Oral Oxytetracycline 50% Powder

ACTI-TETRA B is an oral water-soluble antibiotic powder containing 50% Oxytetracycline, providing high oral bioavailability and broad-spectrum activity against susceptible bacteria and certain protozoa.

Ingredients

• Oxytetracycline: 50%
• Each gram contains 500 mg Oxytetracycline, equivalent to 540 mg Oxytetracycline hydrochloride.

Indications

For poultry, lambs, kids, calves, and rabbits:

• Prevention and treatment of systemic and respiratory infections caused by bacteria susceptible to Oxytetracycline.
• Treatment of erysipeloid caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.

Contraindications

• Do not use in horses.

Drug Interactions

• Antagonistic effects: Penicillins, Cephalosporins.
• Synergistic effects: Aminoglycosides and all bacteriostatic antibiotics (Phenicols, Macrolides, Tetracyclines, Sulphonamides, Trimethoprim, Lincosamides).

Dosage & Administration

Administration:

• Dissolve in drinking water or milk.
• Do not administer with insoluble substances.

Dosage:

• 0.4 g ACTI-TETRA B/10 kg body weight/day, continuously for 3–5 days.

Dosage calculation:

0.04 × average live body weight (kg) × number of animals ÷ total water consumption on the previous day (L)

Withdrawal Period

• Meat and offal: 7 days
• Eggs: 0 days

Storage & Shelf Life

• Protect from excessive heat and direct sunlight and keep in a tightly closed container.
• Shelf life: 36 months from the date of packaging.
• After opening: Use within 3 months of first opening.
• After dissolution in water: Use within 24 hours.
